Precious metal testing
Free XRF gold testing for gold, silver, platinum and rhodium, acid testing when appropriate, and precision scales verify purity and weight in front of you. XRF testing helps assess metal purity and identify potentially counterfeit materials. XRF analysis is our standard method for evaluating precious-metal composition. In certain situations, additional ultrasonic testing may be required if the initial XRF evaluation produces questionable results. Acid testing as an alternative to XRF requires your approval.
Diamond evaluation
Gold King works with a partnering gemologist to evaluate diamonds based on characteristics such as clarity, color, size, and type. GIA certification and other supporting documentation can be helpful during the evaluation process. Diamonds of all sizes and carat weights are considered, loose or mounted, with no minimum size.
Luxury watch authentication
Gold King works with a watchmaking specialist with more than 30 years of experience. Each timepiece undergoes an evaluation to help establish its authenticity and assess its characteristics. The evaluation process is designed to avoid damaging the watch. Watches are valued separately from gold, as luxury goods, for brands including Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Omega, Cartier, Panerai and more. Watch and diamond evaluations take place in front of you and are normally completed the same day; depending on specialist availability, you may need to wait or arrange to return, and in certain circumstances a complete evaluation may take up to 24 hours.
Numismatics
Date, mint mark and grade review so collectible coins are paid on numismatic value instead of melt when the market supports it.

Gold, silver, platinum and rhodium are checked by XRF, our standard method, and weighed; acid testing is used only as additional verification where appropriate. Watches are evaluated with a partnering watchmaking specialist and diamonds with a partnering gemologist, normally the same day.

Gold is priced from the live gold spot price and silver from the live silver spot price at the time of your visit, and you see the math. Watches and diamonds are evaluated separately as luxury goods.
