Sell a Rolex Oyster Perpetual in Houston, TX

The Oyster Perpetual is the purest Rolex — no date, no complications, just the case, the movement and the dial. That makes dial color and size the whole conversation.

OP values are set by case size, dial color, generation and condition. The 2020 color-dial releases changed this model's market completely, and pricing still varies sharply between a turquoise 41mm and a plain silver 34mm. We identify what you have and quote against current demand.

Why dial color matters so much here

When Rolex launched the 2020 Oyster Perpetual line in turquoise, candy pink, coral red, yellow and green, the model went from an entry-level Rolex to one of the hardest watches in the catalog to buy at retail. That created a two-tier market that still exists: celebration-dial pieces trade well above plain-dial versions of the same reference.

Turquoise 41mm examples in particular carry a following of their own. If you have one, say so on the phone — it changes the range we can give you before you come in.

Case size and generation

The current line runs 28mm, 31mm, 34mm, 36mm and 41mm. The 41mm 124300 replaced the 39mm 114300 in 2020, and the 39mm is now a discontinued size with its own quiet demand. The 36mm 126000 and 116000 sit in the middle, and 34mm and smaller pieces trade more modestly.

Older Oyster Perpetuals from the 1970s through the 1990s are valued differently again — those are condition and dial pieces, and honest original examples do better than heavily refinished ones.

Condition, originality and what we check

Since a steel OP has essentially no scrap value, everything rides on the watch itself. We look at case sharpness, whether the lugs have been polished thin, crystal condition, dial and hand originality, bracelet stretch, and whether the movement is correct for the reference and runs within tolerance.

Refinished dials are the most common issue on older pieces and reduce collector value noticeably. On modern references, the usual points are bracelet stretch, scratched clasps and aftermarket crystals or bezels.

Box, papers and service history

Modern OPs frequently come to us as full sets because they were bought recently, and a complete set with warranty card supports a stronger offer. Older pieces almost never have papers, and that is normal for the model — we buy them either way.

Service invoices from Rolex or a competent independent help, especially on watches over ten years since their last service. Bring anything you have, even if it is incomplete.

How we price it

  • Dial color and case size drive the offer more than age on this model.
  • Sought-after color dials from the 2020 generation are quoted against live demand.
  • Steel OPs have negligible melt value, so condition and originality carry the price.

Sell a Rolex Oyster Perpetual — Questions & Answers

Where can I sell a Rolex Oyster Perpetual in Houston?
Gold King buys Oyster Perpetual references in person at 6809 Southwest Freeway, Houston, TX 77074, open Monday–Thursday 9:30 AM–7:00 PM, Friday–Saturday 9:30 AM–8:00 PM and Sunday 12:00–7:00 PM, and pays the same visit. Call 713-997-0875.
Are the colored dial Oyster Perpetuals worth more?
The 2020 celebration dials — turquoise, coral red, candy pink, yellow and green — generally trade above plain-dial versions of the same reference. The premium depends on current demand and condition.
Do you buy older or smaller Oyster Perpetuals?
Yes. 34mm, 31mm, 28mm and 26mm references and vintage Oyster Perpetuals from earlier decades are all purchased, valued on condition, dial originality and demand.
Does an Oyster Perpetual have gold scrap value?
Steel references do not — their value is entirely as a watch. Solid gold and two-tone Oyster Perpetual references carry a gold content floor in addition to their watch value.
Can I sell one that needs service?
Yes. We factor the estimated service cost into the offer and tell you what the watch appears to need.
