The Ringlock case and why it is checked separately
The Deepsea is rated to 3,900 meters, and it reaches that with a three-part case Rolex calls Ringlock: a thick domed crystal, a nitrogen-alloyed steel compression ring inside the case, and a grade 5 titanium case back. The titanium back is the fastest way to confirm you have a genuine Deepsea rather than a Sea-Dweller — it is a different color and a different weight from the steel case.
That construction also means the watch is heavy and tall. Some sellers part with theirs simply because it no longer suits daily wear, and we hear that reason often enough that it is worth saying plainly: there is nothing wrong with the watch, and the offer is unaffected.

D-blue versus black, and what each is worth
The D-blue dial, introduced in 2014 with the 116660 to mark the record dive of the Deepsea Challenger, fades from blue at the top to black at the bottom with green 'DEEPSEA' text. It has consistently traded above the plain black dial version of the same reference.
The 2018 revision to the 126660 widened the lugs slightly, reworked the bracelet proportions and fitted the calibre 3235. Between the dial and the generation, four common combinations exist and each is quoted on its own — which is why we ask you to describe the dial when you call.
Clasp, bracelet and valve — the practical wear points
The Glidelock extension system and Fliplock link carry a heavy watch, and worn clasp components are the most common issue we find. We work the extension through its range, check for play, and look at the end links and spring bars.
The helium escape valve is checked for function, and the ceramic bezel for edge chips, which is where ceramic fails when a heavy watch is knocked against a door frame. A service that is overdue is quantified and explained rather than used as a bargaining lever.
